Marco Polo
Marksman · Farm Lane · Hard to Play Well
What's the deal with Marco Polo?
Marco is that hero you see destroying games at Diamond+ but feeding uncontrollably in Gold. Everything about him is mobility — he's got a dash on S2, his passive stacks true damage after consecutive hits, and his Ult is a giant AoE blender that can wipe teams. The problem? He's made of paper. One wrong dash and you're dead before you can blink.
If you like outplaying people and don't mind dying a lot while learning, Marco is incredibly fun. If you just want to right-click and win, play Loong instead.
🛠️ Actual Build People Use
Shadow Edge first, always. The power spike at 2 items (Shadow + Endless) is when Marco actually becomes a threat. Before that, just farm and don't take fights.
💡 Stuff I Learned the Hard Way
- Your S2 dash is your life. If you use it to poke, you're trolling. Save it to dodge CC or escape ganks.
- The passive stacks true damage after you land enough hits. In lane, auto + S1 until stacks are full, THEN commit. Don't go in early.
- Ult timing is everything. Wait until the enemy team blows their CC. If you Ult into a Daji stun or Lam combo, you just threw the game.
- Marco without his team is useless. If your team has no frontline, don't pick him. Seriously.
- Ban Daji if you're picking Marco. Point-and-click stun = death for you.
⚔️ Matchups
Good into: Slow tanks, immobile mages. You can kite them forever.
Gets destroyed by: Assassins with gap closers (Lam, Nakoruru), point-and-click CC (Daji), and any competent Loong player.
