๐ Complete Beginner's Guide to Honor of Kings (2025)
New to Honor of Kings? This guide covers everything you need to start winning โ from the basics of the map to climbing your first ranked tiers.
๐บ๏ธ The Map & Lanes
Honor of Kings is a 5v5 MOBA on a three-lane map. Each player takes one of five roles:
- Clash Lane (Top): Solo lane for fighters/tanks. Focus on trading and split pushing.
- Mid Lane: Mages control the center of the map. Rotate to help side lanes.
- Farm Lane (Bottom): Marksmen farm gold here to become late-game carries.
- Jungle: Clear jungle camps, gank lanes, secure objectives (Tyrant/Tower Lord).
- Roamer (Support): Protect the team, provide vision, and roam between lanes.
๐ฏ Objectives: What Actually Wins Games
Kills are nice โ objectives win games. Priority order:
- 1. Towers: Push them. This is how you win. Nothing else matters if towers stand.
- 2. Tyrant (early) / Tower Lord (late): Global buffs that snowball your entire team.
- 3. Jungle Buffs: Red (damage + slow) and Blue (mana regen + CDR). Control them.
- 4. Kills: Only useful if they lead to objectives. Don't chase kills blindly.
๐ Rank System
Bronze โ Silver โ Gold โ Platinum โ Diamond โ Master โ Grandmaster โ Mythic
Each tier has sub-divisions (I, II, III). Win to gain stars, lose to drop them. You need 3-5 stars per sub-division. Reaching Diamond puts you in the top ~30% of players.

๐ Quick Climbing Tips
- Learn 2-3 heroes per role before touching ranked
- Mute toxic teammates. Mental game matters more than mechanics
- Watch the minimap every 3 seconds. Awareness > mechanics
- Don't play ranked when tilted. Two losses in a row = take a break
- Learn from every death. Ask: "Why did I die?" and don't repeat it
